Learn English in a Library in AltspaceVR

The C word. No not Coronavirus. I mean context. Often classrooms are completely devoid of it. Particularly for language learners, who spend years learning about what they should say in a foreign country but never get the chance to build their skills outside of the four walls of school.

In one of our VR English lessons today in AltspaceVR we kicked off talking about books and reading, learned some new keywords which came out of our conversation then jumped over to a library created by Altspace user "IsThatToasted" to reinforce those words in context and new words came out of that. Being surrounded by piles of books and wooden ladders in the darkly-lit rows of shelves it's hard for students not to begin to see their language skills and desire to speak flourish.
