English Teacher Training in VR

Last week we had the pleasure of meeting an English teacher from Norway in virtual reality, to help her understand more about the way this new technology can support the way she teaches languages.

We used ENGAGE by Immersive VR Education as our platform of choice for this meeting and it was a wonderful opportunity to show her the range of features such as videos, music streaming and 3D models to demonstrate how these can support the way students build all four of those key areas of English - reading, writing, listening and speaking.

As you can see by the video below, we also explored 360 degree videos, which is another great feature offered by ENGAGE. Considering she is covering the topic of nature in her class, it was useful to explore a waterfall in Venezuela to show how the immersive content can be adapted to many learning-goals.

Apologies for the poor audio quality. While immersed in VR there was no lag or stutter, and the audio was perfect. However during the capture of this part of our meeting the subsequent editing process, it unfortunately was not possible to improve the sound, but you can see the idea!
